FNP in North Carolina

Published

I am looking to relocate after I graduate next summer. I was wondering how the FNP job market and practice is in North Carolina. Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Even though NC has some restive aspects I still know many NPs who have their own practices that they contract with a MD for or something similar.

So here is how it works in NC as far as licensing goes. A onetime $25 fee to be able to call yourself "NP". Then, you can not be licensed in NC without a supervisory physician. No MD, no license. I could MAYBE understand, no MD, no practice, but NO LICENSE? Come on. Yes, I know of several NP owned practices that Operate in NC. Whether they have a benevolent benefactor of an MD or they are coerced to pay tribute/tithe/tax to the MD, I do not know.

i consider this state to be NP unfriendly. But not the worst, by far. GA, NV, TX come to mind directly.

NC is a very beautiful state, but beware, beauty is only skin deep. The weather has MPD, yesterday it was 64 degrees, we are expecting 12 degrees tomorrow night.
