:imbar I graduated in December with my MSN/ FNP track, I will be taking the ANCC FNP cert. exam in a few weeks. I have attended the Fitzgerald review as well as reviewing by notes from school. Does anyone have any suggestions for focus of review materials? I am currently working as a GFNP and would hate to lose my job because I don't pass this exam.

Thanks for any suggestions or comments.

Hi,

I took the exam 2 yrs ago. Took Fitzgerald review. I mainly focused on the review material contents. That's it. Passed it on the 1st round. I didn't focus on any specific sections. I guess you can focus on a section you THINK you might be weak at.

Hope this helps.

PS. Relax and don't study 1-2 days before your scheduled exam. You'll do better instead of cramming and being too worked up at the last minute.

Hello...... I took and passed the ANCC ANP exam 5 weeks ago. My job also depended on me passing this exam. The frustrating part was waiting for the results. I was informed that the turn-around time is usually one week, but unfortunatly for me, my scores were delayed for some reason and it took nearly 4 weeks to get a verbal response that I had passed. I felt prepared going into the exam as I also took the Fitzgerald course and reviewed every night for many months. However, my confidence level took a nosedive after the exam. In fact I began to study for my "next" exam. My suggestion to you would be to review Bates or Mosby's physical exam normals AND abnormal findings. Many questions came from these types of books. I received my scores in the mail last week and was surprised to see that I did quite well. I think I must be a good guesser because there were many questions that I just wasn't sure about. I'm sure you'll do just fine......Hopefully you'll have more confidence in yourself than I did. Good luck and keep us posted.....Susan

Hi everyone. This is sort of off topic, but I saw this thread...

I'm currently in a FNP program, but I'm not close to graduation. I'm doing it part time and this is my 2nd semester.

I would appreciate any tips/hints/recommendations!!

I know everyone has different learning styles, but any information would be appreciated!

Hi Susan,

Thanks for the encouragement. I reviewed the Mosby and Fitzgerald info and took the test and passed on the first try about 3 months ago. I have since been extremely busy at work! Thanks for the suggestions!

:balloons: Hi,

Thanks for the advise and words of encouragement- I took the exam a few months ago and PASSED the first go around . I did some relaxation/aromatherapy for myself the day before the exam which helped me to "chill" during the exam.
