  1. Hello...... I took and passed the ANCC ANP exam 5 weeks ago. My job also depended on me passing this exam. The frustrating part was waiting for the results. I was informed that the turn-around time is usually one week, but unfortunatly for me, my scores were delayed for some reason and it took nearly 4 weeks to get a verbal response that I had passed. I felt prepared going into the exam as I also took the Fitzgerald course and reviewed every night for many months. However, my confidence level took a nosedive after the exam. In fact I began to study for my "next" exam. My suggestion to you would be to review Bates or Mosby's physical exam normals AND abnormal findings. Many questions came from these types of books. I received my scores in the mail last week and was surprised to see that I did quite well. I think I must be a good guesser because there were many questions that I just wasn't sure about. I'm sure you'll do just fine......Hopefully you'll have more confidence in yourself than I did. Good luck and keep us posted.....Susan
  2. Worst state? Georgia, hands down....we are in "good old boy" country here......Hopefully soon things will change, although I'm not holding my breath!
  3. I passed! If anyone is studying for this exam and needs advice as to what to focus on.....let me know.
  4. I took my ANP exam on Jan. 30th (last month) and still have not heard back. Does anyone know the turn-around time for results. I felt prepared going into the exam as I had studied for many months and took The Fitzgerald review course. However, after taking the exam, my confidence level has dropped. I felt the emphasis on the exam was very different from what the review course led me to believe. Also, I thought common problems such as diabetes would be on the exam, not the rare problems. Only 2 questions were asked about diabetes! Many, many questions were on psycho-social problems and how to respond. I understand why these types of questions need to be asked but my frustrations are with the quantity of questions asked in this particular area. I am currently working as an NP in a clinic were I see many acute and chronic conditions. Did anyone else encounter these frustration after taking the exam..... Please let me know......I'm a little nervous.
