(The school pays for hotels, food, lunch, snacks, plus the application fees and mandatory seminars that typically cost over $900 per school official).

How much is the student paying for a sub par...education? a lot more than $900.  ACEN of which you refer guarantees an excellent review of the schools NCLEX rates, financial resources (not the students' hard earned $), The educational requirements earned and the actual ability to TEACH, How the school looks to the future in improving, Does the school teach what it says it does? and will it be there next month.....

Why should you, as a student, work harder to achieve a degree than the school works to deliver an expensive program that will prove you  will pass NCLEX and are able to get a license in all US states.

BTW, the state of Florida has established a deadline for ALL FBON approved nursing schools to get ACEN standing in a certain, non negotiable time.

Excellent post @londonflo!

Accrediting bodies exist for a very good reason.  NCQA and URAC for managed care organizations, JACHO for medical institutions, LCME for medical schools ( most states require  medical schools to have LCME accreditation before you can even qualify to take the licensing exam)----Nursing should have long ago followed suit!

I argue that ACEN and CCNE accreditations should be mandatory and even more stringent in order to weed out these diploma mills, pop-up stripmall schools....... As stated previously,  this lack of standardization nationally(in comparison to other solid professions) have led to a lack of elevation of the Nursing profession. There are too many for profit investor driven programs; programs that lack rigorous curriculum which is needed to provide comprehensive patient care.

22 years ago in South Florida, there were no easy roads ("easy programs")to becoming a RN that I was aware of. The programs were very difficult but if you made it through, you would pass boards and deliver safe patient care. I worked with very knowledgeable nurses after graduating. You could literally see a shift a little over a decade ago.

I'm having that problem right now, I have pass my neclex exam since July 2022 and Maryland Board of Nursing is not accepting capscare academy, so I don't know what to do, please can anyone advise

Hello I am also in your same situation, I'm also confused and don't know what to do.

I have a question if a school licensed is terminated, the previous students that are enrolled are they still able to take the NCLEX, I just found out that my school brightmed is terminated so I am just trying to way my options out.sadly I might have to start all over again. They were placed on probation last year in March and the program is now terminated

Brightmed's ADN program was placed on probation at the February 2022 meeting due to low NCLEX scores, as outlined in Section 464.019(5), Florida Statute. Section 464.019(5), Florida Statute, also requires the program to provide written notification of the program's status to students.

Additionally, the program was ordered to termination for failure to become accredited at the August 2022 meeting.

Section 464.019(7), Florida Statute, authorizes closed/terminated programs to teach out students who are enrolled and matriculating through the program at the time Board action occurs. However, if a program has been ordered to termination, the program is authorized to admit students until the order becomes final. A notice of intent is issued, barring no requests for appeals and the appropriate time lapses for the election of rights, the program is set to terminated in our database.

Graduates of those programs are eligible to apply to sit the NCLEX for Florida licensure, if all licensure requirements are met.

Closed/terminated programs are not authorized to enroll/admit new students.

Programs are authorized to utilize multiple type facilities for clinical training, programs are not just restricted to hospitals.

You may view Section 464.019, Florida Statute, in its entirety at: http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=0400-0499/0464/Sections/0464.019.html

The assigned NCLEX code remains active for three years after the closure date to accommodate students. Graduates testing outside of the three year window, once deemed eligible to sit for the NCLEX may do so using the default code for closed programs.

The closed program status does not impact a student's ability to test for licensure in Florida, if deemed a successful program completer.

Please forwarding these concerns to the Commission for Independent Education (CIE) for further evaluation. CIE receives and processes complaints filed against nursing education programs. Please visit https://www.fldoe.org/schools/higher-ED/fl-college-system/about-us/complaints.stml for information regarding that process. CIE will investigate your concerns and assist you if possible.  Be advised that they cannot give legal advice or take legal action on your  behalf so you may also want to seek legal guidance from an attorney if necessary.

The Commission for Independent Education has statutory responsibilities in matters relating to nonpublic, postsecondary, educational institutions. In keeping with the Florida Department of Education's goal of producing a seamless educational system, some of these functions include consumer protection, program improvement, institutional policies and administration, data management, and the licensure of independent schools, colleges and universities.

Don't give to Active Health Institution online RN in Miami Fl. They are still on probation. The retention rate is high and so is the passing right at 29 percent the most recent is 44 that is due to adequate teaching curriculum is poor and the payment plan. If u withdraw they still want their money and put it on your credit report as revenge action
