Schools in FL

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I live in Chicago and am thinking of going to school in FL. Are there any good schools, preferably waterfront?

I'm not sure if you are asking if the school itself actually sits on the water, but many of the state schools are in a city that lies near the beach (which isn't difficult when your state is surrounded by water on 3 sides!).

This is how it breaks down:

University of North Florida: Jacksonville

Florida Atlantic University: Boca Raton

University of South Florida: Tampa

University of West Florida: Pensacola

Florida International University: Miami

Can anyone else think of any that I missed??

Hope this helps answer your question.

Does the Univ. of Miami have one still? How about Barry College?

I graduated from Miami's Community College eons ago, and ended up in Iowa!

yes, UM and Barry are still around. They are really expensive private schools, so I never think of those....

If cost is not a factor for you, Nova Southeastern University is in Ft Lauderdale.

Specializes in NP / USAFR Flight Nurse.

Univ. of South Florida has a St. Petersburg campus that is on the water. It is really beautiful, but your nursing core classes will be in Tampa. They actually just built or are in the process of building dorms on that campus too. Not sure if you are thinking of that route.
