Is anyone else planning on applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program? I know it is really early, but I am just too excited. I want other people to share my excitement with!! :)

I checked both emails, spam folders, everything. Does anyone know how I can get in contact with anyone who will know what is going on? I have only gotten answering machines.. I am freaking out :(

Send an email to health sciences. Maybe they can direct you to someone They have responded within 24hrs for me.

Good luck.

I just dropped my acceptance letter and hope that they will confirm that they receive the form this afternoon.

Just scanned my alternate status letter . And received confirmation. For the alternates we will find out between 06/22 through orientation day obvi . Talked to health sciences yesterday

;9486732']Just dropped off my acceptance confirmation this morning and it was marked as received in 'my documents' this afternoon. In case anyone is mailing their items in again, you can check there to confirm.[/quote']

Hi. I dropped my acceptance letter this morning and it already show that have been received only the acceptance letter form. It was not show that my drugs fee and release background checks have been received too. Is your case shows the same thing as mine or different?

Hi guys! I just wanted to say congrats to all those that got accepted. I can't believe the GPA is that high. Our group in the spring was high too. Please don't give up on your dreams. I know everyone didn't make it but it doesn't mean your dream of being a Nurse is over.

For those of you on alternate listings there are so many factors, people accepted decline and go to other schools, so be patient and stay positive. For those of you accepted start moving on those shots and everything you need now. The window is extremely tight. If you go to the HCC Nursing page read that information it will tell you all the stuff you need to get done. Start now...... Don't be surprised if you don't get your campus, I had a 4.0 and got my second choice. I've heard good and bad about every campus, the point is you are in. Get that background paperwork, fingerprints done early. A lot of people wait until the last minute. When you go for the orientation it is a long day. Wear something comfortable. You don't get to negotiate your campus or your clinical site, it is what it is.

All that doesn't matter, because the first day of school you are going to be freaked out! It's natural, I didn't calm down until a month after. It's a lot of work, so get your mind right. It is nothing like prereqs. You have got to devote time and effort into studying. I'm sure you heard by now if you are and A student, don't expect to be an A student in Nursing. Some people still do, but in my class we were just happy to pass. We lost five from our group at the end of NP1. I'm not being negative I'm just letting you know. I'm on Plant City Campus, so if you need anything I'm here. We were the first class to always wear uniforms, and had a different set of rules. When you get your books start studying Medical Calculations, or youtube or google it. DO NOT WAIT until the last minute to start the math.

This is the most amazing experience of my life, and I have seen a lot. I'm older and retired Army but I love the decision that I made and all the information I am learning. If you are at the Plant City Campus you have an amazing teacher. She is just such a wealth of knowledge but she pulls no punches either.

Congrats again, stay positive for those on the alternate list, and don't give up for those who didn't make it this go around.

Thank you for the insight! I am also Going to be at PC. Do you know if the book list changes this year? If not, I would be willing to pay for any books from NP1 that you aren't using anymore (if I will need it). Or if you have any classmates that want to sell let me know. I am trying to find a cheaper way to do this LOL

The book package you buy you use all the way through the program. I bought the online and physical books and I would tell you that was a waste of money. I am a physical book type of girl. So you can save money that way. I can see if anyone in my class wants to part with the fundamentals book, that is the only one they could sell to you. I'm keeping mine because it is a great reference to look back on, you also need them to study for HESI at the end of the semester. You could look on Amazon, they have the Fundamentals of Nursing by Yoost ($28 and 19 to rent). Thats a new book that started with us last year. That is your primary book for NP1 along with Clinical Calculations. You also use Medical Surgical Nursing a little bit but its not the primary book for NP1. You have to buy your Lab manual, don't buy the care plan or the policy book, you can download those.

Buying the package is a way easier option, they will tell you at orientation some other programs available to help you. They have some programs that can help you pay. The package has a lot of codes and stuff that you have to have and its harder and expensive to try to piece together. Its cheaper with the bundle that they have. I think its like 600 or so for the ebooks, 789 for ebooks and physical books. I might have flipped that around but they tell you about it at orientation.

For your uniforms buy two white shirts with the logo from the store, you can wear any white shirt in class, you have to have the HCC logo for clinical. You can buy the pants too from the company but honestly you find them on amazon cheaper. You have to buy your name tags from the BeHive place, I would order those now, there is a backlog sometimes, and you need that for school.

I will definitely ask around and see if anyone wants to sell there fundamentals book. Oh and do yourself a favor and buy a Rolling bag, almost all of us have olympus versions. You have to carry so much crap with you, way easier to pull it than carry that heaviness around.

Ok awesome that isn't too bad. I will probably rent some books as well as buying :) I bought a book bag already but I think I am going to return it because I found a rolling one online. Thanks for the heads up!

Hey corinnepaige91. One of my classmates is selling her books, since she is changing schools. She said she would sell you everything for $300. Her med calc has a little writing in it and the fundamentals has some highlights but those will help with your studies. Then you would only have to buy the codes for the rest. So she would be selling you the following:

Clinical Calculations

Essentials of Psychiatric Mental Health (never used)

Fundamentals (some highlights)

Medical Surgical Nursing (We used for one chapter)

Medical Surgical Nursing workbook

She also has the badges you need for Level 1-4. So you would only have to buy the name tag. She also has her scrubs but doesn't know what size you are. Her scrubs are medium for both top and bottom. Just let me know if your interested.
