I have a gpa of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale but my school uses a 4.33 scale so on that scale my actual school cGpa is a 3.68...From what I understand, at FAU they do not convert your transcript grades to fit to their schools grading system, rather, they just take your own institutional GPA from the school you come from and use that..my question is, since I come from a canadian school and my schools gpa system is based on the 4.33 scale, will they look at my gpa and convert it to a 4.0 scale(which is i presume what they use) or take my gpa for what it is during the admission review process???.:uhoh3::uhoh21:...also anyone happen to know what the average admission gpa is for FAU.??...my last question..sorry for bombarding you all at once...anyone know how often they offer the HESI extrance exam to be written...being that I am in canada and plan on entering an accelerated program in MAY 2010 when should i ideally write it (with consideration particularly of application time for FAU) I cant stress enough how thankful I am for everyones help!.:heartbeat

I am up in northern Florida. I am finishing my last two pre-reqs this semester. Just a few more weeks and I will be done! Have you looked into the scholarships for UM offered by their local hospital system?

Oh Northern Florida, I heard there are two programs in Jacksonville. I wish I could apply but it is too far from where I live.

UM has great scholarships, you have a guaranteed job when you graduated for 3 years which is great, and you can even work toward your master degree!

I don't think too many people apply to UM as well because of the cost.

Would you mind sharing your statistics?

I will send you a pm with my statistics. I don't like putting too much personal information out on the boards, just in case. You never know who is reading!

you are right! How do I send pm?

I couldn't figure out how to send a pm. Your statistics are great. I am 100% sure you will be accepted at any school.

I have a 3.87 in my previous degree, and 3.85 in my prerequesites. I haven't taken the TEAS, but I think 87 is very high. I got 80,85,90 in the HESI.

With the great gpa you have, you will be accepted anywhere. Which is your favorite school?

Your stats are wonderful as well! I would think you have a really good shot of getting in anywhere you want. I don't really have a favorite as of yet. There are certain aspects I like about each. If you click on a person's profile icon, then contact info, there should be a link to send a pm. I think you might have to reach 15 posts first though.

Well thank you! I followed what you said, and I am not allowed to send PM yet.:uhoh3:

I read somewhere that we will know by mid February about FAU. So are you applying to USF in March or June? I am going to do it in June because I do not have all the prerequisites completed yet. I am going to send my application to UM as well :)

I will apply for June. I don't think USF accepts that many people. Do you happen to know how many FAU accepts for their ASBN?

Great! I will apply for June as well. I read that is only 25 seats at usf, one is for you!

I am currently in USF absn program. I got accepted for Fall 2010 and there are 36 of us. They usually accept 24-36. I would say definitely apply even though it is very competitive. I had a 3.4 and so other things are definitely considered when they select people. Apply! If you decide to apply for summer semester, have your stuff in order! Feel free to private message me!

Thank you so much for the information!! would you please share how is the program? is it very demanding? Thank you!

Well, finals begin Monday so I'm not out of the woods yet:smackingf. I would highly suggest that you take pathophysiology before the program. Everyone's experience is different. I have lecture Mon and Thurs, lab tuesday, clinicals wednesday, and fridays off. These last three weeks have been demanding. I'm sure next semester will be worse with 22 credit hours! The saying is if you make through the 2nd semester, you will make it through the program.
