Fleas from homeless patients?

I had to take care of this homeless guy yesterday, and Ive gotten a number of bites that resemble flea bites today. I also think I saw a fea but i didnt have my contacts on.

Has anyone gotten fleas from patients? is it common?

I got fleas one time when I worked in a LTC facility. I suspected that they came from a coworker.

oh no thats not good. I never have but sounds like you need to take care of that. make sure to clean the clothes you wore in HOT WATER and yourself... and if you see them again then you need to buy some stuff to kill em orelse they get into everything....:chair:

Fleas, scabies, crabs, chicken lice, ticks, head lice...you can get them from any pt, not just the hobos. Keep an eye out for rash on pt. palms, you might win the lottery and score an infectious dose of T. pallidum pallidum.
