fafsa, pfftt... good luck. we have a family of 6, and i won't be getting any aid next semester. 4 kids or not. i think it stinks. my dh is also the only one working, we have to pay close to 500 if not over a month for gas and daycare for my little one.

good luck, it is a lot to worry about, i know, i hope something works out fo ryou, hang in there!

I agree with you there. I'm a sahm with 4 kids, hubby doesn't make a whole lot, and I could not believe what Fafsa said I "should" pay. Thank God I have money coming from my mother's estate to cover the rest.

And you're right - it's not just tuition. It's books and gas and childcare and uniforms, etc. Fafsa is like the stingy old woman that won't part with a dime.

Are you going to a private or state school? Most state tech schools offer some type of aid programs. Just a thought.

I'm at a community tech now, but will be attending a private Catholic college in the fall. The tuition difference is enormous, but thankfully most of my pre-req's will be done, so I won't have to pay for any of those. The difference in credit hour is $133/hr to $635/hr - quite a jump. Even the associate director of admissions told me to get as many courses done as I could where I am now.
