FL RN endorsement to CA.

Published

Hi I just wanna ask if endorsement of license is possible.

or is somebody there try to endorse his license from other state here CA?

I'm one of the affected international nursing educated here in CA due to our concurrency issues (MS&OB).

We got denied to take nclex RN here in CA

Some of my classmate took nclex RN in other state (in FL to be exact) they are also affected by CA BRN requirements.

I just wanna know if it is possible and CA will grant their RN endorsement here, thank you.

Thread moved to nurse registration. CABRN looks at your original education whether you are applying for license by examination or endorsement. So if you didn't qualify for CA and then got a license in FL unless you met the missing requirements, you would not be able to endorse back to CA. Quite a few have been rejected in CA by trying this 'back door' way to getting a license in CA

Meaning you need to meet the initial qualifications for licensing regardless if another state authorizes you to have an RN license by examination. In other words if CABRN said retake med-surg & OB clinical and theory but instead you just applied to FLBoN you will not be able to endorse to CA unless you retook OB & M/S with sufficient theory and clinical time to meet CABRN requirements. This is why licenses are not considered reciprocal as each state may have slightly different requirements. Only the NCLEX results have reciprocity and one must apply for a license by endorsement.

Seriously doubt it, CA are clamping down and as mentioned several times some members on here have tried or have friends that have tried to endorse to CA and still meet the same problems of someone applying directly to CA and do not meet requirements due to the concurrency issues. CA regardless on initial application or endorsing look at training especially if an International trained nurse

Here's my take from over a year, it hasn't changed since: https://allnurses.com/nurse-registration/endorsement-back-into-746541.html

You can have 10 plus years of RN experience and still not get in, as it will always fall back to your foundation base of where your BSN degree is from (what country) and is totally independent if one is a US citizen, dual citizen, immigrant, green card holder. Your citizenship has zero bearing or influence of being granted an endorsement license.

The endorsement process includes of US educated students or US nurses still being denied into CA (as an example) that do not recognize certain US colleges, such as Excelsior grads (at least those that graduated after 2006, I think). Something about Excelsior also has issues with their clinicals or lack of.

The issue with CABRN and Excelsior is non-concurrent clinical & theory. Those who's entry to practice education is Excelsior ADN are not eligible for licensing in CA by exam or endorsement even with multiple successful years working as an RN either in the VA or other state.
