U.S.A. Florida

I am thinking about moving to the Tampa or Newport Richey area because my parents live there. Can anyone tell me what the hospitals hire a new grad starting at? I live in North Carolina and it is around 21 and hour here I am just curious if it is comparable to Florida.

Specializes in MICU, CVICU.

I just moved from NC to Fl too! I don't know the pay though but just wanted to say I love it!

Specializes in OR SCRUBULATOR, Nurse Practitioner.

A hospital in Jupiter (northern most part of south fl) starts at 20.08 then goes to 23 after 3 months and then 24.08 after a year.

Memorial in Broward county starts at 24 but i was not told about their raise schedule. I did get a bonus though. They usually offer 10,000

Its important to note it IS more expensive to live here so any more north than jupiter might get you something lower. Also that is for days. My friend was hired in Miami on nights at 29/hr with diff and 32/hr on weekend nights

Specializes in Operating Room.

I am employed (new grad) in Dade County - $25.50/hour.

Just curious: is this LPN or RN?

Tampa area the new grad RN pay is roughly $22.50 /hr give or take. This is pure base and doesn't include weekend, night or any other differentials. If you take a residency you may be paid less during the training portion.

I'm in SWFL, as a brand new RN grad, starting pay in an intern program was 23/hr. Shift diff of 6/hr for nights, 7p-7a. I was told a couple days ago that shift diff increases to 8/hr in Oct.

Hi, I also live Miami. Do you mind sharing which hospital it is? I'm set to graduate in December and was wondering which hospitals down here offer the best salary. you can send me a personal message if you like. Thank you

Hello, I wanted to know if anyone has been chosen or put in a application for the Memorial Healthcare System scholarship in recent years. I'm going into my third semester of a BSN program and was wondering if it is still available? I wanted to receive some info from a BSN recipient.

Sarasota and St. Pete: $21.50-$22. Tampa, I've heard $22. That's a rough salary considering the cost of living in the area, but there's no state income tax. I'm looking at moving to NC as one possible option, and the houses appear much cheaper there than FL. Homeowner's insurance is crazy expensive in FL, though. There's lots to consider.
