FL NCLEX takers

Published

Hi Everyone! I graduated with my BSN earlier this month and am planning on taking the NCLEX the end of June, and just wanted to know if anyone out there in FL would be interested in starting a little support group. Maybe share study tips, encouragement, and anything else NCLEX related! Best of blessings to everyone!

Kaplan's online review programs is the way to go. Passing the nclex was painless after I took the kaplan review. I had to take the nclex twice. You may not really need a study group. As long as you go over everything that's in that program. Group learning can have it's advantages as well. Good Luck! Im sure you'll do fine with whatever route you choose. What helped me the most was the qbank through kaplan. Just keep doing more and more questions. Good Luck I'll be praying for you.

I am a recent graduate with my ASN, looking to take the NCLEX this month as well; I bought the Kaplan online test bank and the strategy book (opted out of the full review because my college had us do a 3 day review through ATI/MEDS PUB, was pretty good), and I think it has been very helpful, I have done a little over a 1000 questions to date, Kaplan's ?'s seem a bit harder than your saunder's/lipincott/etc. , but it has been good, make me think through the question using strategies and logic on questions where the answers aren't obvious; I recommend it, but will see how much until after the exam hahaha!

i toook it twice too first time didnt study cause thats how i passed the nclex-pn , so i failed !! LOL but i did the KAPLAN review online study really hard for a month and took it PASSED! so i recommend KAPLAN plus i was averaging about a 72 to 75%

with all the others 90 to 100 %

KAPLAN is the most realistic to the nclex GL!

Hey Guys

I just passed my NCLEX on Aug 19th, first attempt with an ADN. The computer shut down at 80 questions, that had me worried until I tried the PV trick (go to students,NCLEX and look for PV trick) I got the good pop up but was still worried until I saw my name on FL BON site.

I used the Kaplin book, 2010-11 version, I read the book, taking the tests along the way, read the rational on the questions and writing the wrong answers down, then going back to my text books and rereading that section. I took the Kaplin test off the enclosed CD and repeated the wrong answer research.

I also went to EBay and found an online test, where I could take three tests of 250 questions four times. I was helpful and well worth the 10 dollars or so.

Now the kicker, all of the testing questions I answered while studying for the exam, NONE of them were anywhere on the actual NCLEX. The whole test is 'critical thinking' you will need to be able to read the question, understand what they are asking, then rule out two of the answers then choose the correct of the two.

I had a fair amount of 'choose all that apply' questions, a fair amount of med calculations and meds. On meds you will never learn all of the meds, so learn the root of the different drug classes and common side effects.

If you feel more comfortable taking a class then you should do it, most people I have talked to do the Kaplin class with good results.

Good luck on your test

HAHA I guess I should update, I've been working as an RN for 2 months now, passed the NCLEX in 75, it was almost exactly like Kaplan online test bank questions, anyone who reads this, buy the book and the test bank, it's worth it.
