Hi I was just wondering if anyone has done an interview at FIU recently and can give me some tips on what to expect. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It's been a few years since I interviewed there but since I got accepted I figured I've give you my 2 cents. You will meet with Dr. Groom, Dr. Gonzalez, Dr. Wunder , perhaps another CRNA and a few second year students. They will ask you typical questions of why you want to be a CRNA, your shadowing experience, your experience in the ICU and perhaps a few clinical questions on the drugs you use in the ICU. They will test your knowledge on the pharmacology and physiology of the drugs you current use in practice. They will ask you questions in so much detail you won't know the answers. They don't expect you to know everything before you start CRNA school. If you don't know the answer don't BS and make one up. Tell them you don't know. Thats the answer they want to hear. They want honesty. They really want to see what type of RN you are and if you will fit into the group of students they have selected. They are very friendly and won't put you through a stress interview. Just be yourself, be honest and don't sweat it. Good luck.
