Hi everyone!
I'm not sure if there is another thread for FIU's 2014 generic BSN program, but I figured I'd make one. I just wanted to see if there was anyone else who applied? I finished applying about a week ago and I was hoping maybe someone in the program could give us some advice or insight on how they like the program.
Thanks! And good luck everyone!!
Right now I have a 3.80 cumulative GPA and a 4.0 science GPA. I am currently volunteering at a hospital and should have 120 hrs by the end of the year. I'm gonna try to get more hours because I feel like that's not enough and yeah I've heard that exam is kinda hard... But I got the study manual and I'm going to study all summer.. Sigh lol. Quick question... When did u take the exam?
Once again... Good luck and hopefuly you all get accepted!
I took the exam Feb 18th, but DEFINITELY take it sooner so you'll have a second chance to take it again incase it's not the score you wanted the first time around. You're allowed to take the exam twice only if you have 30 days in-between the test dates. I only had 25 days and I was so mad at myself for not realizing that before I signed up for the exam.
And awesome GPA!!
Oh wow thanks for telling me because I didn't know that ... Im gonna try to take it in january. When u submitted the application packet were u done with all your prerequisites? I read I have to send official final transcripts w the packet but Idk how I can do that since the deadline is before the semester ends..

Make sure you have your foreign language finish! Im finishing Spanish 2 in June but because it wasnt done by the "application deadline" luis was pretty much hinting don't bothing applying by not returning emails. . . And the sad part is im fluent in another language but CLEPping out was not an option because they didn't offer my language. My GPA is not perfect but decent overall GPA 3.7 with pre reqs at 3.88 and I am soon to be "multilingual" I hope lol . . Oh well felt bummed for working so hard and having that prevent me from applying but I figured it wasn't meant to be. . . make sure you talk to advisors early so you dont run into last minute surprises like I did. Otherwise your stats look fabulous. . Keep up the good work and good luck on this stressful adventure!
I was done with the prerequisites, but I was still taking two electives I had to complete for my AA. You send your current transcripts when you apply in March, when Spring grades are soon to be posted they will send you an e-mail asking you to send your final transcripts again to them. They keep you updated and will e-mail when you need to turn something in.
Hello guys and girls my name is Stan and I also applied to fiu for the fall. Despite the fact that I'm anxiously waiting for this acceptance/ denial letter, there is one question that keeps bothering me. How is the fiu generic bsn schedule like? An advisor told me it was in step, but what does that mean ? Will we all be given a certain amount of classes to complete per semester or will we all be in the same class at the same time? And if we are in the same class at the same, is it going to be in the morning or afternoon? Will it be Monday through Friday or 2-3 days a week? The reason I ask these questions is because I have a job and I want to make the necessary adjustment if I get accepted. Thank all for reading my rant...lol... Any answer is better than no answer

Hello Liz! The deadline to apply to the nursing program is March 15th. I believe as long as you apply by the deadline everyone has an equal chance, but I am not 100% sure. The entrance exam is tough but doable, so make sure you study well for it! What are your grades like now and your community service hours?
Lovingkumi, at this point there is nothing we could do. We will find out soon!!!
