FIU Fall 2016 Generic BSN

Published

Hey guys! Is anyone here applying for the Generic BSN program for Fall 2016? I couldn't find any topics for it.

I'm in the process of applying right now and I just took the TEAS V today! I'm content with my score, but I may retake it. I hope that with my TEAS V score, my GPA, and my extracurricular activities combined that have a good chance of getting accepted into the program!

My stats are:

Science GPA: 4.0

GPA: 3.96

TEAS V Cumulative score: 79.3% :(

Reading portion: 83.3% unfortunately I ran out time on this one and had to blindly guess on two questions!

Math portion: 66.7% such a bad score for me! I had to guess on like 5 questions because I wasn't keeping track of time!

Science: 81.3% I'm so relieved with this score. I was so scared that I wouldn't pass the 62% mark. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!

English and Grammar: 83.3 % It was an okay section, a couple of tricky questions. I had like 3 questions on how a word is spelled correctly and those get confusing when two of them look like the right answer!

I would love to hear from anyone else who is also applying for the Fall 2016!

Where are you guys finding these cheap prices. The cheapest I can find in my area is $90. Are those prices for the BLS/CPR or the regular CPR?

For anyone that is an FIU student, do we have to send in our official transcripts or PDA? Since we are still conditionally accepted, I just wanted to know so I can drop off my transcripts when I get back from vacation.

You don't have to. Only transfers

@tanesha the bls/cpr. What area are you in? I will try looking for you. I'm in West Palm Beach.

@faerytinkerbelle I'm in new York and the only legit place that does it over here is the American Red Cross for $90. Ugggh I wish i was still in miami right now everything is so much cheaper over there 😞

So if you're taking summer classes now do transfer students have to send final transcripts again?

Tanesha =/ ahh bummer. Yeah everything is expensive there.

@Suzette are you taking any? Not sure, but I would think it is not needed if you met all the requirements for Spring already.

Yeah, I'm just taking one history course so idk if it would be necessary. I already completed all the prereqs for the program last fall so they were all included in the transcript that I sent with the application. So it would seem tedious to send another transcript lol

I dont think they would need it since you finished it all last fall =)

I have extra classes I took at my previous school and FIU did not take them all. They just used what I had to meet the core curriculum and have 60 credits.

Yeah you still have to send your final transcripts after summer class grades post to the school, but to the nursing program no. But straight to FIU yes bc they need to know you have completed the classes and they have to have your full transcript on file.

Is there anyone who got accepted Thursday that hasn't received the individualized letter of acceptance or any orientation info/clinical checklist? Because I haven't received anything yet at all

Ohhh okay, thanks guy! :)

@Mm012345, after the acceptance email I received another email talking about the immunization and stuff but that's it. No attached file or extra email or anything.
