Just wanted to start a thread on this upcoming admission cycle for FIU's accelerated nursing program. I just finished taking the TEAS for the second time and gathering all my materials to submit to FIU. Does anyone know if they're really competitive?? Bleh freaking out, my TEAS score is just a 71%, and gpa is avg.
I'm trying to apply for the 2019 session, and went to one of the information sessions. They did say they let in 30 and were expecting 150 for this year, which really scared me! That is super selective. I was trying to find another AO program to look into as a fall back, but can't find anything as competitive price wise, and the competition starts at different times.
Can't wait to see how this turns out for you! Good luck!!! Let us know how it goes!
I applied to the FIU program too! unfortunately, I just realized that they needed an ethics class. It's the only pre-req I'm missing so I'm bummed and I hope it won't count that much but you never know. I only scored a 72 on the teas and that was on my 2nd attempt. I think that I overthink the answers. Was hoping to apply to FAU but I'm scared of taking the teas a 3rd time and not get my 78%. I got 91% on both the practice tests but Idk what happened on the test. Has anyone heard back from FIU yet?

You might have test anxiety! I was definitely nervous on test day and felt terrible after it was over. Maybe try some relaxation techniques. Realistically the missing prerequisite will probably take you out of the running against people who have all their classes, but there's no reason you can't apply next year, or to another program with a later deadline like Barry.
