This is what all the fuss about tests, HESI, GPA is all about. Nursing is challenging...it is like no other profession. Essentially it's all important. I know that sounds contrite. But it is.....find the common denominators between your lecture and book. YOu instructors will usually give you clues as they lecture. Don't let your nerves get the best of you. There is a huge learning curve on the first few tests just remember to breathe.

There is a search feature in the upper right hand corner......use it to search for others who have asked this question. Here are some results. Maybe it will help.

Everyone studies differently. Some people basically transcribe the book in notes. Others just read. Others can just listen at lecture. Still others skim the book, paying attention to the "keys" area at the beginnings and/or ends of chapters, noting on those (the last became my own preference, but it may not work for you).

If you're anything like me, you won't really know how to study until after you've taken the test. This is unfortunate, but the only thing to do for the first test in your first NURS class is to prepare the best you can, get a good night's sleep the night before and a good breakfast the morning of the test and go in with a positive attitude.

Hang in there. People have to graduate from nursing school. You might as well be one of them.

we have 3 instructors who switch every week...so far our first instructor said she takes test questions from the objectives..so she told us to KNOW the objectives....one down out of 3

our first test is in week 4 and it will have 50 MC questions.

I start school on Wednesday but at orientation they really stress the importance of knowing the objectives.
