Yeah, it's kinda intimidating, you know? I know it's a big book and they only want is to do good and be ahead of te game. That's all they talked about at the orientation...was falling behind on our readings. I'm almost done with chater 2! Lol 11 more to go...it woulda been nice if we at least had a class before they gave us all this reading. They didn't say what to focus on, which I guess means just focus on everything! Thank you, I need all the luck I can get lol
Something I do as I read is type up my notes(important keypoints in the readings). So basically it ends up being a nice little study guide come test time :) But I have a good idea what to read/focus on, and since you are a new nursing student, it will be hard to really know what the important info is.
I think 350pg by August is a good amount of time. I think I do 150 a week on average in patho, right now. I think I am glad I don't have something required yet, but I kind of want to know what we are starting with. I couldn't begin to read it with the demands of my summer classes. Good luck I hope you get all your reading done.
30 chapters?! And I thought mine was bad.... :/
Yeah, it's a lot. I think it's a doable assignment considering we have three months to do it, but pharmacology has me testing on 15 chapters a week...there's just no way right now. I think I'll be able to get it done during statistics. Should be less reading!
Good luck with your reading! :). Nothing like just diving straight in!

Hey to whoever is reading this. Ok, so I just wanted to say that I'm very nervous about starting my first nursing class in August. I have everything for the clinical but I'm more worried about the lecture part. We went to orientation and got a pre-reading assignment of almost 350 pages. It's doable but it's just too much at one time I think, I guess I'm not used to it because other classes don't assign reading assignments often. And this one is just like...hitting you at once with 350 pages..which is like 13 chapters. I don't work but I have a 2 year old son who is a handful, really. But he's starting to understand more and more each day so I'm happy about that. I tell him "go sit on the couch and watch cartoons so mommy can read" and he says..."read? Ok mom" lol its so cute :) But yeah...I'm just nervous to start I guess. I just want to do really good and prove some people that said I wouldn't be able to do it...wrooooong! :)
