So I finished school at the end of July 2010 in MI then got married Sept 2010 and moved to TX where i took the MI NCLEX and then transfered to TX license, which is still temporary.
Now after months of applying to hundreds of jobs all over TX, I finally have an interview about 10 minutes from where I live (which is amazing because there isnt alot around here). I really want this job because I have always been interested in weight loss and diet. I actually wanted to be a nutritionist originally but went into nursing because it was supposed to be easier to find a job =/
To prepare for the interview I am driving to the building to make sure I wont be late for the interview, Im also trying to look over everything mentioned in the ad that I would have to do and make sure I remember how to do them. I have also looked over their website to see everything they do. So far, im pretty excited =D I would love to get this job so my husband and I can finally move out of his parents house.
So does anyone have any other advice for the interview? I need to find some clothes to wear since I dont have many dress clothes. I do plan on wearing my hair up, simple french manicure and very little jewelry. I am also wondering what kind of questions they might ask? I heard that I should bring a copy of my resume, and I was told to bring my CPR, drivers license SS card and my nursing license. Should I bring it all in a folder? if so, what kind? paper folder or small binder? And should I prepare questions that I have for them and have then in the folder if they ask if I have any questions? (I usually blank when people ever ask me that)
And for anyone that works at a doctor office, do they usually let you paint your nails since I wouldnt be feeding people, or doing anything sterile or anything. I have really loved painting my nails while out of school and have became quite good at it =]

From my experience working in a medical office, there are no artificial nails or nail polish allowed. We are professionals and are constantly washing our hands to stop the spread of germs to the patients and the staff. Also, very little if any jewelry was worn as a deterent to spreading germs. Good luck on your interview.

I always had my cpr, ss card, etc in my wallet.
In my office I am allowed to paint my nails, as long as its not chipped.
Good luck!

Congrats on landing an interview! I would suggest going over some practice interview questions ahead of time (seeing as you said they can make you nervous). A couple of good websites with recommendations are...

Dress professionally, ie: minimal makeup, bare nails, close-toed shoes, basically dress conservatively. First impressions really do mean a lot. Make sure to enunciate your words, and if you can't think of an answer to a question don't be afraid to pause for a few seconds. It is better than "and...um...uh...." :)

Make sure to act very polite and professional, but also be like-able. I have found that the worst employees manage to keep their jobs because their managers "like" them personally :/
I usually carry all my documents in a manila folder. I will bring my resume, fingerprint card, license, bls card, and any other nursing related awards or training certificates.
Also, make sure you tell the manager or HR person what they want to hear. You are applying for a job that involves you working with people, so let them know that you love being around people, are a team player, empathetic, etc.
Good luck! You have plenty of time to practice and I'm sure you will do fine!
