I started out my first LPN job working nights and I really like them. They can be quiet or crazy haha, it really just depends on the night. Bring lots of good snacks; fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, or seeds so you stay away from the junk. Drink lots of water, it will help you stay awake and take a nap before you go in. Good luck, I wish you the best!

Yeah I just started on nights a couple weeks ago, its not as bad as I thought it was. We pretty much stay busy especially with patients who have trachs and other special treatments. The first night I only sat down for my break...Charting takes up a lot of time as well, which helps me stay up. depending on how many patients you have med passes can take a while. So it-just depends but now since I'm learning how to organize my time better its getting a lot easier..I eat in the middle of shift and just snack on carrots/grapes throughout the night...
