First job interview while on monitoring

Well... first official interview tomorrow! So nervous to actually spill out that I am in hprp program in MI. I was thinking I would take a copy of my contract with me? What do you think? Ugh! I am embarrassed to say it OUT loud to a potential employer. I have been at home mom the last 2 months hitting the AA meetings... and kind of hiding out really. Any good advice other than being honest? License is intact/no legal issues as long as I am compliant.

I know I need a work site monitor, no narcs for 6 months (upon approval) and they said I could possibly get approval if I was offered a 7p to 7a... although I am not sure this old gal could go back to nights. Been on days for 18 yrs. The good thing (maybe?) is that I applied to an actual in patient rehab. I hear the from AA peeps that most staff are in recovery too. Hey.. they are my PEOPLE... right? Lol. Anyways... I would appreciate any good vibes you can send my way. Hopefully they don’t offer a minuscule amount of $$.

Good luck with your interview. I have been enrolled in PNAP (Pennsylvania nurse monitoring program) since June. I have not worked. I would be interested to know how things go. I go to meetings daily and working on my recovery. If things go okay, I will be cleared to work by November. So I would appreciate any feedback from other nurses in this type of program.

I was in the HPSP in Minnesota and my case manager told me not to mention that I was on the program until after I was hired. So- that’s what I did. Maybe ask your case manager what she suggests?? I do understand every situation is different so what I did may not be appropriate for you. I can imagine there are pros and cons to each situation.
