Hi guys, I'm about to start at my very first job as CNA . And I feel that I'm forgetting all my skills, since got certified 2 months ago. I'm starting reviewing the book and all the skills . But also people says that I don't have to worry, the facility will orient me accordingly with policies to how to do the job. And no necessarily by the book. I don't know I feel like I want to review and don't feel lost in the place.
What do you think ? If you understand my point pls advice thanks ?

I think it's normal to feel the way you do.
You WILL feel overwhelmed on the first day, and probably for the next several weeks...but you WILL get the hang of it.
Just take moment by moment. Listen to what (most of) the other CNA's tell you as far as likes/dislikes of the residents.
No matter what they say about not raising the bed because it takes too much time...raise it anyway..it will save your back! It's the small things being done over and over that will destroy you back. If you learn NOTHING else...learn this: raise the bed every single time.
The rest just takes practice and experience. Be patient with yourself. You'll get it. Don't worry about studying and reviewing. It will come to you naturally.

One thing is don't get discouraged by the experienced, overworked CNA that has been doing it 5 years. They might not want to show you how the facility does things or teach a new CNA. Make sure you know what rooms you have and your patients.
Thanks for your answers !!
