First interview as grad. nurse for a new grad. program. Advice and tips please?!

Published

Just received my license and have a job interview for a new grad position tomorrow. Have done a lot of preparation but also looking for advice or tips that I may have missed. You never know, thank you!

Dress nice! It's the first impression. When you walk in, before you say anything, their eyes will be on what you wear. I wore a skirt-suit and loose hair with nude hose.

Also, be friendly! I feel like coming off nervous makes the interviewer nervous. Remember, you are qualified to sit in that seat!

Rnaria do you mind me asking where you got the skirt suit I haven't found one that I like yet. But still curious about them. :) thanks

I think that depending on your size, dress barn and even Burlington/tj Marx/Marshalls have these skirt suits that are conservative, well made, and reasonably priced. Always wear tights/stockings/hose with skirts. They can tell. Also, while wearing the hair down may be okay, make sure that it's not flying all over. Remember that it is healthcare. Also, if you choose to wear nail polish, make sure it is not cracked, and that it is a conservative color

I honestly had it laying around from college interviews (lol!) I spent a over $100 on it, but it's been used over many interviews and it's worth it. I picked it up at Lord & Taylor
