Oh and if you're this nervous about the first day of class you're gonna be a wreck on stateboards. Again, don't sweat it. At the stateboards, the redcross instructors want you pass and give you a LOT of slack.
Heck, your CNA instructors want you to pass too. It's almost impossible to fail a CNA class if you're literate and can follow and remember instructions.
I just recently finished my CNA course and passed my state exam (best feeling!) You will learn so much from your class and just remember that everyone there is in the same boat. I went through a 7 week course. In the morning we would have lecture and watch a great deal of videos, and in the afternoon we had lab where we would learn either on a mannequin or another classmate. My clinicals were 40 hours in a nursing home which is when we were all the most nervous but you learn very quickly there. It will be a great deal of information thrown at you but if you have great teachers that make learning fun and have been in healthcare for awhile like mine were, you will learn a lot from there experiences. Enjoy it!
It's easy. And half of the crap they teach you you will have to unlearn once you get a job.The CNA courses are designed to teach you what the state requires, they don't teach you how to be a good CNA.
I don't really think that's the case. I think it just depends on who is teaching you. Of course they're gonna teach you what you absolutley NEED to know, they want you to pass. But I know there ARE instructors who want you to strive to be the best you can be as a CNA. Like I said, maybe not all intructors, but there is a lot who want and teach the opposite of your statement.

Hey there!
I start my CNA course tomorrow. I am kinda nervous about it. Does anybody have tips for the course in general and any tips for the first day? What kind of things did you do on your first day?
Thanks!
