I'm soooooo excited! I have to be at the hospital and ready to go at 6:15 tomorrow. I have my dream assignment of oncology, but we'll mostly just be orienting and doing vitals tomorrow. This is the stuff I went to nursing school for, and the last 3 weeks have been hard to get through. So, I'm glad to finally have a day where I can just soak it all in and experience real nursing (not me, but the nurse I'll be shadowing). Anyone else getting ready for clinicals.

I will never forget my first patient of my first clinical (I was also in onc) who was s/p a radical neck. I was so amazed. Enjoy it!

My first clinical is Thursday. We're in long term care. Since the only skills we've been tested on has been hand washing, I'm expecting to do a lot of interviewing and bed-making. I've been practicing making beds all week (the CNA's in my nursing lab were giving me a hard time since I can get A's on the tests and quizzes but can't make a bed). My family is shocked, since we are such a busy family beds generally just don't get made, lol.
