i failed the first time taking the NCLEX too, so desapointed:mad:. have pass the Hesi exit exam at the first try, being an A student. that this where i ended. don't know what to do either. i get my report today only after 4 days of taking my test telling me "near passing", but they gave me only 75 questions, l was saying my self why they did not let me do the 265 question, why they cut me at 75 questions if i can do the all 265. i started not trusting the pearvue testing. did anyone has that kind of experience?

You can be asked anything between 75 and 265 questions, it all goes on your answers and that the computer can predict with 95% ( I think) on pass or fail. Many fail with 75 but the key is to decide whether to give up or not. I passed on third attempt so it can be done.

Hi, what are the infection mneumonics, please?? Thank you kindly!

same here, i'll be using EXAM CRAM with LA CHARITY and more prayers!! hope it would work. i've been studying since april and i haven't finished any software yet because i'm always changing my mind and having 2nd thoughts if i am really using the right one. do you guys think EXAM CRAM and LA CHARITY would do??

MAY GOD BLESS US ALL!! :) MORE PRAYERS AND HARD WORK!! :)

I too failed my first NCLEX RN in July. I was a decent student and passed the HESI on the first time. I took my NCLEX LPN with the maximum amount of questions and passed on the first time so I think maybe I was overconfident. After I failed it took me some days to get myself together because I was really depressed especially since all my other classmates were passing with no problem. I immediately filled out another NCLEX application and reapplied for the test. I had heard that the Kaplan course was really good, but I didn't have $300-400 to kick out. I suggest getting the Kaplan NCLEX RN Review book and Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment by LaCharity. I worked in the books for 3 weeks along with doing computer questions from Saunders. It is not about how much you know, but how to answer these questions. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW, so don't doubt yourself. I took my NCLEX RN yesterday morning and it shut off at 82 questions. I was so shocked because I was prepared to sit for the maximum questions. Every question I used the techniques from the Kaplan book and the the questions like "who do you access first" were a breeze after using the LaCharity book. It is worth the money! Hope this helps you and Good Luck, I know you can do it.

PRAY AND STUDY MORE.

Hey everyone! I know I haven't been on here in a while but I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind word of encouragement!

For those that have passed, CONGRATULATIONS!

For those that are still studying, I am right with you so know that you are not alone and my prayers are with you. WE CAN DO THIS! SI SE PUEDE!! For those that haven't passes yet, keep your chins up. I know how you feel but... ni modo (oh well/whatever)... You just have to shrug it off and keep walking your path. And fight whoever gets in your way (mental Tai Kwon Do on somebody's ass... LOL)! Good luck to everybody!

I took NCLEX-RN twice. The first time I got 265 questions. I studied just Hurst (Live review) and did all the practice questions on the website (5 tests). I FREAKED out when my computer got to about 150. BIGGEST MISTAKE!!! Do not let it get to you!. 2 other people in my class got 265 and they passed because they kept their cool. I on the other hand, have anxiety issues and it wasn't good. The second time I read through my Hurst book one more time (which is only content). I bought the 2010-2011 Kaplan review book for $35, the Lacharity book ($25), and i studied the isolation precautions sweetmya that has been passed around on here and i felt COMPLETELY confident walking into that test center EXACTLY 46 days later. I passed with about 90 questions!! And with 90% of my answers I felt completely confident. I highly recommend Lacharity and Kaplan! They helped SOOO much!!! Good Luck everyone!!! :)

P.S.- If you have anxiety problems I HIGHLY recommend hiding the number counter in the upper left hand corner of the screen. I hid it at 78 and thats the best thing i could have ever done!

****Oh, and it is completely untrue that they give you the topic you did bad on the 1st time. I had pretty much NO questions about the topics i had trouble with last time.

Hi everybody, thank you for your advice, i pass the NCLEX, two weeks ago. so happy now. i was so worried because i had only 75 questions like the first time i took it. but this time everything works well.

Thank you all again, good luck for those who are going to take it.
