I am totally new to traveling. I just got my first assignment. I am leaving this Friday. It is a psychiatric hospital which is an area that I love. I am starting to panic a bit because I will know no one. Are there any other nurses in Dallas? What is it like? I am single with two dogs.

I love Dallas... I am originally from there. There is plenty to do and I hope you like warm weather, there are lots of dog friendly spaces as well! What area are you going to be staying in and maybe I can help you a bit. Feel free to PM me.

I live 30 miles southwest of Dallas, in Fort Worth. In general, Dallas is fast-paced and trendy. It has many genuinely rich people as well as many more '$30,000 millionaire' posers, especially in North Dallas and its suburbs.

I love Texas. I lived in Waco, Tx for six years. I have also lived in southern California. My main worry is transportation to the hospital since I don't have a car. The manager told me to get a hotel close to the hospital so that is what I am doing. I still dress in jeans and boots. Thank you for your help.

I sent you a message. I am not sure which hotel. They are supposed to get with me today. I told them that I need one close to the hospital so I can ride the Dart system. Thank u for your help.

Ouch...Surviving in the Dallas area is going to be difficult without a vehicle. At least this assignment is going to be temporary.

I Plan to buy one as soon as I make enough money. What kind of travel is there?

I have the travel figured out. They put me in a hotel close to the hospital and the dart system. I am already booked on it for Monday,

As a nurse from Dallas, I can tell you that you will want to find your own means of transportation rather soon. As a large bustling city, Dallas' public transportation can be a bit.. volatile. Don't get a horse though, Stemmons Freeway isn't set up for equine based transit anymore! Dallas is great, I worked at Methodist Med Center for a few years. Welcome back to the DFW area.

I still have not left yet. Paperwork. I am supposed to be at work Monday. I am thinking of just getting a cab instead of the bus. Any ideas?
