For those who have finished their first year of school, is there a subject/class that you wish you knew more about before your first semester? I would like to go into nursing school with a little bit of a head start or at least not being so "green" about some things. What would you suggest to a new nursing student to "study up on" before entering NS?
I would have gone ahead and learned my lab values and their high and low meanings. First semester it wasn't so much an issue on tests, but would have helped with clinicals. I'm am in the middle of second semester and we all were knocked on our butts that first test...lab values every where!
I would also recommend getting a NCLEX study guide book. There are tons out there but it helps you get teh feel of what questions will be like.
Good luck!
what nursing program are you in? where can i buy this book. i know exactly what you mean. my friend said its not like any other test you have taken. i know this my micro teacher made us do case studies as our final :/
You can get the book on Amazon.com. Once I find out if I'm accepted, I will most likely get one of these for summer reading.
Here's another one you might want to check out. It has more reviews about it.

So glad you have all of those classes out of the way. Things will be much easier in that respect. Good luck and I hope you get your acceptance letter soon. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
