Hello fellow aussies, as our colleagues in the USA do it,on their forums - I am....
I pppaasssedddd. I am now just about officially a RN Div 1. Wow!!! Officially finish end of this semester 14 July!!!!
It has only taken 25 years as an RNA name change to SEN and then RN Div 2 and finally I got that dam degree.
I have already been offered a position in a grad. nurse program starting in July. Now I am starting to worry about, Oh NO!!!! all this and you want me to do the pills, IVs and everthing as well???
I thought when an Div 2 that there is "not much difference" but now there, and all that responsiblity!!!
Its great reading this forum. seeya later C
Congratulations Ceridwyn!!
I am sure that you wil only be daunted for a wee moment when you start work as an RN! As an EN for many years before "doing the degree" I found actual work a helluva lot easier as I didn't have to chase anyone to do the pill and IV Abs for me. This also meant I did not give disjointed care to my allocated patients as I didn't need to "trade" jobs which I wasn't legally allowed to do!
Personally I reckon old ENs make great new RNs cos we have now proved we really want to be there!
I shall now have a long cool beverage in your honour!

Hi, Joh, By the end of 3 months on a very busy surg. ward the feet started to numb up a bit. The only thing is, I have forgotton everything I learn't in the 6 months post-grad that I did. Oh well. C
I am not working at the moment due to child care problems, but after 3 months off, I am starting to get 'keen' to get back to nursing again, if only for 1-2 days a week, just for some extra cash. I am studying a post grad dip in primary ed. at the moment - distant ed.
