Thread moved to the International Forum as it is specific to working in the US.
SSN#s are not state specific, they are issued by the US federal government once you are in the US and ready to begin work. You cannot obtain one if you are in the US on a tourist visa, only with a visa that will permit you to work legally.
is it true that i have to get a SSN first before the Ca BON would release my license?
thank you very much

Yes it is true you will not get your CA license until you are in the US with a valid work permit and then a SSN will be issued
Please do a read on here as this has been asked several times.
so in that case is there a deadline??
there is a deadline for CA on providing a SSN within 3 years if you do not your file is cancelled and you have to pay and refile again. YOU DO NOT have to take NCLEX again.
Again there is plenty on this forum regarding CA and even a thread dedicated to CA
Th majority of the states in the US do not issue a license without having a SSN#. Again, please take the time to do some reading here on this forum.
