finding time for clinical

I am thinking about graduate school for FNP. My current job is 4 weekdays per week. How does one fit in 250 clinical hours in a semester while working a m-f job?

Applying to Chamberlain since it seems like the easiest application process.. Happy with a diploma mill, but other recs appreciated.

You likely would need to find another job/position, quit, or go part time or PD unless your job is willing to accommodate morning hours for clinical and you can work later during the day or from home. Most of my classmates work the typical 3's at the hospital so making days for clinical was quite simple. Others quit, work PD, or PT.

If you have 250 hours in the 16 week semester, that's 16 hours per week. If finding a new job isn't feasible, if you can find a clinical that will do 12 hours on the day that you are off, maybe you can take vacation to cover 4 additional hours a week. Or a full day off every other week? I work nights and I did 3 12's so I would have time for clinical. Sometimes I went from a 12 hour night shift into a 8 hour clinical. It stunk, but you gotta just get through.

For primary care there may be the option to use something like a minute-clinic that would have weekend hours. I'm not sure.

Good luck finding something that will work for you!
