Finding a job in London

I am a graduate nurse in Australia, currently working in Hematology/Oncology. I am moving to London next year and am in the process of registering with the NMC. I would like to know about the best way to find work for someone who will have just arrived in London. I would like to hear from anyone who has applied directly to hospitals, used recruitment agencies or worked for an agency?

Thanks :)

Check out by looking for nhs jobs you should be able to find job adverts and who to contact

Thanks Silverdragon, Would you recommend looking for jobs once I'm over there as opposed to joining a recruitment agency here in Australia?

Hard to say however because London is so expensive to live nurses are always being advertised

We have a few nurses from Oz at my trust and they're super nice. You won't struggle to find work in a London hospital, most trusts have lots of vacancies. The bigger issue is the cost of living here and how quickly you can start. Will going through a recruitment agency speed up the process of finding work, because international nurses have to go through such a lengthy process of paperwork and training before they can even apply
