Finally - HFCC

Published

Finally, I have arrived, starting the spring/summer program at HFCC. Taking nsg 120 and 126, anyone have any words of encouragement. I'm so scared. I'm older and hoping I can keep up. Any advice, study habits, exam tidbits, etc. I have so much riding on this.

Congratulations....keep up with the reading. don't get overwhelmed and take it one task at a time. and keep your eye on the prize. it may seem like it will take forever to be done but you will be planning for graduation before you know it.

Congratulations on getting in to HFCC. It's a great school. The 1st year is the roughest. Don't get behind and you should do just fine. Feel free to PM me with questions. The time goes by quicker than you think it will.

I just got my acceptance letter for spring/summer yesterday! So I will be starting to at hfcc. I'm super excited, and yet nervous at the same time. How do you already know what your taking? Am I behind? Because I know nothing right now, besides the fact that i'm starting in spring. There is a meeting on march 26th that I'm going to, did you already go to a meeting?

NSG 120 and 126 are taken your 1st semester at HFCC. To see the classes you'll be taking each semester go to www.hfcc.edu and go to nursing classes.

Congratulations on your acceptance

We already had our 1st meeting last week, an orientation meeting. They gave out packets of information to fill out and all the shots we have to get. We picked our two classes; you get two choices am or pm. Classes are 4 days a week. Monday starting at 9am, tues and wed - labs and thursday class. I chose pm classes, starting at 11am and 1pm. We filled out information for our badges and uniforms. It was very excited. We have another metting next week and they will register us for classes. Hope this helps.

Good luck to you as well, I'm so scared. I have a lot riding on this so I want to make sure and pass every class. At first I was kinda bummed about going straight thru, but the good news is, at least we will be done by end of next summer, sweet! They will also recommend a clinic for you to go to for all your testing, shots, drug, etc. Also, you fill out a form to do a criminal back ground check. They will walk you thru eveything, as she reads the packet, you will follow along. Again, good luck, we can do it!

hey, 2 more questions..... do you know what date we will be starting the semester? also, when you went to your 1st meeting how long did it last? mine starts at 1, and im trying to schedule work around it.

The semester starts May 11th and ends around August 16th. We go straight thru with no breaks. We graduate August 2011. The meeting started at 1 for us as well, I think it lasted 2 hours. Our next meeting is Monday, March 15th, from 8 - 10, where they will register us. Then we have another orientation meeting April 4th where we go over the student hand book and some other stuff, that meeting is about 4 hours long.

wow graduating in august 2011, that sounds so AWESOME to say. i am so hyped up and eager to start you have no idea LOL. i just keep thinking about it 24/7 so things keep coming to mind. at the meetings have they mentioned anything about books? i am just wondering if i can purchase now and start reading. my meeting is still 2 weeks away, i feel like i cant wait that long. im a nerd i know LOL

She mentioned books and suggested to get them when they say or come in because if you wait and they run out, they may not have anymore until after class starts and I think reading assignments maybe required on the first day. So as soon as they, I am buying mines. I am excited as well, been waiting a long time. When you have your first meeting, you will get a packet of things to do, it was basically to get us started on our shots and physical, etc.
