Hi just want to start a new thread regarding filipino nurses seeking employment outside the country. Can someone recommend "best countries" for a filipino nurse to work aside from canada and new zealand? currently im applying as a staff nurse at saudi arabia, as we all know, middle east is the most sought after country for a novice like me. i just want to prepare ahead of time cause im not planning to stay too long in saudi. i would probably just finished my 2 yrs. contract then seek employment in an 'open country'. thanks. hope we can exchange views fellow RNs! I would also like to willingly share my experiences in applying abroad as an OFW :)
For Filipino nurses other than Canada, U.K is also a great option. Country is now in shortage of RNs and is welcoming skilled nurses across the globe. Besides is known for their liberal immigrant laws. You can enroll in a good nursing program in U.K and then start working in the country.
The academic IELTS with 7's across the board is definitely the biggest challenge for nurses seeking employment in the UK.
If you can, go for it.
If not, there's always Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I heard it's fun over there.
or better yet, if you have a great financial resource, try the immigration programs of Canada.

I guess they still do. Just waiting for my petition (EB3) to be filed and approved this month. Since ive passed my nclex last July, there have been 4 international agencies who contacted me and they are all willing to sponsor everything (Visa fees, VisaScreen Certificate processing, RN license endorsement and reimbursement of NCLEX fees). Due to the lifting of immigrant visa retrogression, they are again hiring IENs. You may check travel.state.gov for the priority dates that are currently processed. There has been a dramatic movements of PD since late last year.
