FGCU CRNA 2020

Nursing Students SRNA

Hey everyone!

As I was searching for a forum for the FGCU CRNA program, I couldn't find anything! So I figured I'd create one ?

I think this is a great way to support everyone going through this application process and stay informed. Lets hear where you're from!

I am pumped up for the interviews. I hope they will shead some light on to why the boards pass rates were so very low.

Has anyone heard what the interview is like or what they tend to focus on?

I haven’t herd what they tend to focus on. Has anyone herd what changes their making based on the Doctorate program? Or what their explanation is for pass rate? It is worrying shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars for school and not being able to pass board exam.

That’s a good question to ask during the interview. Unless you find someone who’s recently graduated, I’m not sure anyone else would have that info.

I don't know about the Doctorate program, but last year the Masters program interviews were more of a 'getting to know you' style of interviews.

Thanks for your reply! I appreciate it! I believe I read on another forum that their interview process is pretty relaxed. Nevertheless, I’m still quite nervous!

Has anyone actually interviewed yet?
I have been invited for an interview and I am quite nervous as to what its going to be like. Anyone care to share their experiences thus far?

Hi all, would anybody like to tell us about their experience with the interviews? @NICU_Nightingale @JKelly_BSN_RN_CCRN_CSC @FutureIntub8er1995

Specializes in NICU.

So I really can’t, simply because I didn’t think it was too bad. Mostly “get to know you” type questions with few clinical oriented questions but then I know some people did get asked clinical questions and they did think it was rough and “got grilled” (their words). I wasn’t responding hoping someone else had something less vague than I do because I know that’s literally useless, I’m sorry ?

No worries! I’ve actually been to my interview and hadn’t yet posted anything on here for the same reasons. They asked some straight forward, yes/no type questions, a couple clinical questions but more directed toward your experience (not like “tell me the mechanism of this drug” type questions), then some other stuff like why are you interested in the DNP program, strengths/weaknesses, just basic things. Even everyone walking out of their interview said the exact same, vague sort of thing. “It’s laid back.” I don’t know that I found mine easy. I did feel a little intimidated, but was it just me, it’s hard to say. I was very nervous. It’s hard to give advice when you’re not really sure how yours went ?

What I can say, and probably should have said before now, is that you get to meet some students, and ask them questions. They do lots of things that sort of put your mind at ease before putting you on the spot. This is was my first interview, so I don’t truly have a comparison, but I can say I liked the way it was conducted.

Guys, I believe today is the day they will notify of admissions since it’s the last interview day. I know this is what they’ve done in the past (according to current students). Keep us posted if you happen to hear anything!!

Today is the second to last day to interview. Monday will be the last day to interview, thats the day my interview is scheduled for.

How long was your interviews from start to finish? Also, were there a lot of applicants there when you guys went to interview? I appreciate all of the support and communication between everyone on here. It's helped to calm a lot of my anxiety thus far.
