FGCU CRNA 2020

Nursing Students SRNA

Hey everyone!

As I was searching for a forum for the FGCU CRNA program, I couldn't find anything! So I figured I'd create one ?

I think this is a great way to support everyone going through this application process and stay informed. Lets hear where you're from!

Awesome! I guess now the waiting really begins lol

I wonder how many they put on the list. It’s tough cuz you don’t really know where you fall on the list either.

I know! The unpredictability is frustrating, but I had already grieved not being accepted, so I’m just happy for the good news. ?

I received my letter by mail too.

I agree, I just wish I knew where I was on the list. I have two out of state interviews the third week of November.

For those of you who received admissions, did they specify a timeframe for which they would like a response? Obviously there's a multitude of factors that could result in openings in the cohort from now until the start of class, but I am just curious to know if they gave a date that they would like an answer by? Just something to go by for those of us waitlisted. Thanks!

Hi! We had to reply by November 1st with acceptance.

Hello! I plan to apply next year and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their admission stats? Things like GPA, GRE scores, experience, etc. Any info would be so helpful!!

Hey guys! Sorry, we really hit the ground running this semester.
GPA 3.8, GRE I did not do well on (somewhere right around 300), 7 years of experience, CCRN-CSC certs, and recent courses in chem (didn’t get in my undergrad program). I also participated in an evidence-based practice fellowship at the hospital I was working for. I know that’s brief but I saw no one had replied yet and so I hope this helps at least some! Everyone is different, you know. If you’re GPA is subpar, do your best on the GRE. If you didn’t do well in a class, or are missing required courses, take the initiative to take or retake them beforehand (my acceptance was contingent upon an additional chem course, so don’t feel like you have to wait an entire year to apply just because you’re missing one thing). Do things that demonstrate leadership skills and involvement. Start articulating your professional goals essay (I wrote one and then after doing more research, completely rewrote it). Shadow is you haven’t. Befriend a CRNA who can help guide you through the experience. Look up Nurse Nelle on Youtube. I think she might even do mock interviews from time to time (don’t quote me on this). Again, this is short and sweet but I hope that gets your started!! ❤️

Hi everyone! I am interested in applying and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the total cost of the DNP program. I understand that it's $374 per credit for 112 credits but that there are additional fees including clinical fees. Thanks!

Hey sorry! GPA 3.8, GRE 301? (don't remember sorry), CCRN and other certifications, nurse for 6.5 years charge/resource/precepting. Lots of on unit projects and policy development and I had shadow time with a CRNA. They did ask me about my time on the FNSA board in my undergrad so I think that may have been appealing to them considering how much they push involvement with AANA now. Um not sure what else to add but if you have any questions let us know ?

So far, no there hasn't been additional fees (besides obviously books and a $10 student ID charge) but we're only one semester in sooo.. who knows LOL. From what I understand in previous years the SON fronts the cost of scrubs and certain clinical tools as well as Valley prep, hopefully that's still the case!
