FGCU CRNA 2015

Anyone applying for January 2015??

I interviewed early on the 12th and got called the 17th in the evening. I think maybe they need more time to review the people from the later interviews. They also have to go over it with the president of the nursing school. Will pray for you!

Thank you for being so positive on my behalf. Thank you. I have been going over my interview over and over again in my head trying to see if maybe I said something wrong or offended them. Thanks for putting my mind at ease:)

Has anyone received their acceptance letter in the mail yet? Being out of state I'm dying for more detailed information about start date etc.

Hey all! I have not received a detailed letter yet, but I have called the school to find out some more information. The start date will be January 5th a Monday. She said they may want us there the Friday before for orientation. For info about school tuition, visit Office of the Bursar . It is $373.38 per credit for FL residents and $ 1,300.66 per credit for non FL residents. There are 7 semesters total. Each semester there will be a fee of $272.02 for equipment charges. Also each semester will have a fee for clinical liability. The first semester is the most expensive because it includes uniforms and other items. The last semester is also expensive bc it includes the review course. Here are the fees Gretchen sent me

Semester 1, NGR 5431L $1,808.00

Semester 2, NGR 5432L $621.00

Semester 3, NGR 5433L $749.00

Semester 4, NGR 5434L $738.00

Semester 5, NGR 5435L $619.00

Semester 6, NGR 5436L $913.00

Semester 7, NGR 5437L $2,384.00

Gretchen says the equipment and clinical fees are an approximation, probably from the last class and that they usually stay steady. Hope this info helps, and hope it is accurate too!

Just wanted to say. I'am officially in. I ended up having to retake

my GRE. Didn't want to put anything up until I retested. So I will be seeing u all in Jam.

Im refferance to above Grechin stated that the papers should be coming in the mail either today or tomm. Spoke to her today.

Hey, I too will be joining you all next spring for school. Was curious if any of you are from around the area and can offer some advice for good locations to live in.

@MPCFRN, i went to undergrad at fgcu. depends on what you are looking for as a place to live. a lot of college people live in Estero/ san carlos park as it is cheap. you have some nicer apartments all around estero. its like a 5 min drive to campus... during winter snowbirds come down and traffic doubles along with travel time when you live in naples/ downtown ft myers or by the beach

Surf nurse,

Have you heard of the Palms of Monterrey near Summerlin? Is that a safe and convenient area? Also congrats to the rest of you who made it!

@trauma, yea that place is a pretty good area. traffic is not too bad theres plenty of ways to get around the traffic from there, you'll be fairly close to health park hospital and the other two around there as well.

Does anybody know if it's required to do the level 2 background check at FGCU? I'm hoping i can do it somewhere nearby where I am. it says you gota get all the stuff done by nov. 2 or whatever. I currently work in Hawaii so it's not exactly the easiest trip to make to florida just for a background check.. gona try to get a hold of fgcu but the 6 hour time change is a pain at times to contact people on E coast.

I called the school to clarify that as well, and I actually live in FL. They do require the level 2. However Grechin said that she knows how difficult it is to get it done especially if your out of state. They prefer that u do it at FGCU but they know that this is not always possible. So when u register for it they have a confirmation page, send that to the school. That's what they are looking for as per Grechin.

i see, are we supposed to do the student badge for an additional 12$ for the background check on certifiedbackground?

Hi everyone!

For those accepted to the program, how are things going? Are you liking the program? I am planning to apply to the class starting 2016! Do you mind sharing your stats? I am wondering if I will be a competitive applicant: 1 year mixed ICU, 3.8 last 60 credits (valedictorian for my BSN), CCRN, president of our Unit Council, "wound care champion" (do they even look at these "extra curricular things?) , GRE will be taken later this month.

I am doing everything to boost other areas of my application because I know my one year of experience is the minimum admission requirement!
