Fentanyl Related Overdose Deaths Significantly Rise in Ohio

Has anyone else seen this?

In 2013, there were 84 Fentanyl overdose deaths in Ohio. Just last year, the number significantly rose to 502. So far, this past year the number is at 98.

Any thoughts on this? I wonder why the number rose so steeply and is comparably low so far this year?

We've had a rash of fentanyl-related deaths in our area. Dealers were lacing heroin with fentanyl unbeknownst to buyers. There were arrests made in our area after a rash of fentanyl overdoses and the dealers were charged with murder (still awaiting trial). Multiple casualties arose from a single batch of nearly lure fentanyl marketed as heroin in the case near us, so it doesn't surprise me to see such high numbers, many may be like the cases in our area in that multiple deaths occurred from a single batch of "bad" heroin (the oxymoron for the day

There were 3 in o e day in my town. One crashed his car at a busy intersection. Luckily they caught the dealer who sold it. Such a mess!

On the Stethoscope FB page this morning, there was a post shared about Chicago having 70+ deaths in a 72 hr period r/t fentanyl-laced heroin. Yikes!
