fell asleep, administrative leave

Nurses General Nursing

I just want to say, balance your life and take enough rest.

At my last two ED jobs, there would sometimes be blocks of time with patients... some people would actually lay down on a gurney. I was OK laying my head on the desk and cat-napping. It was almost impossible not to.

At my present job, we're so busy all night that it's easy to stave off the nod-offs.

Sleeping when you've got patients to care for, though, is not cool.

OP, I am so sorry that this happend to you. I know of a lot of nurses who fall asleep, but only a handful get "caught".

And mostly those on rotating shifts, who don't work nights as a general rule.
