Hey everyone,
Well, I'm not too sad...it's the fact I wasted four good years not going to school for what I've wanted to become the whole time...a nurse. I have no kids, single, and really bummed about how long it's going to take until I can actually apply to nursing school. I have to take A&P 1 and 2, math, chem, and some other classes. Realistically I wouldn't be able to finish until 2015, I want to dedicate my time during upcoming semesters to getting an A in all my classes. My question is, is there a school that I could go into before November of 2016? It's a long azz time and need something more out of life!
Actually never mind what I said... lol!

Well, I will tell you that it took me 14 years after I had a major in what I thought I wanted, and it's still worth it. Remember, an education, no matter what it is in, has value. You will be able to apply that knowledge in nursing.
I know how you feel though. My sister is a nurse (and younger than myself) and told me years ago to go back to school. She was right, but I am enjoying it now, even if I should've done this years ago.

Don't feel sad looking back - you can not change it. You know what you want to do - that's awesome! Some people can't figure that out their entire life.
And as far as the time it would take...one idea is to get a CNA certification and start working as one while you are taking prerequisites. That way you can start doing what you love earlier AND it will help your employ-ability when you graduate.
Wind in your sails!

You can only look forward. If you think about it, 2016 is not that far away and time goes by quickly. Take advantage of living in the present and the future will be here before you know it. Look at it this way...you are still way ahead of those who have yet to begin.

It took me about six years to finish my prerequisites, while I worked full time at a pharmacy. The journey itself is priceless. I grew and was able to learn how to study well and juggle everything and keep good grades .you're not alone. The question is, how bad do you want it?
Thanks everyone, it does make me feel better. I do have my CNA and where I work now can hopefully apply for a position with the elderly. I'm still young, and plenty of opportunity ahead of me!
