Feeling overwhelmed about December graduation

Nursing Students General Students

I am graduating with my RN this December 2009. And I am completely nervous for many different reasons. I am nervous that I wont remember anything when I actually get out there and that people will be dissapointed in me and my skills. Has anyone else felt this way??... or should I be concerned! Does anyone have any advice for me on how to manage my anxiety? Thanks! Hope to hear back from you!

I agree I am so stressed about that too.

Hey

So I am not graduating soon at all, i actually dont start nursing school until february but i have talked to many nurses and many of my friends who just graduated. My friends that resently graduated said that they took a class to help prep and that no one knows everything, they didn't even feel like they passes until they saw that they did.

My advice is to study a little bit everyday, gain confidence in yourself, and go get a massage.

From my nursing friends who have worked a few years, they all say you dont know anything when you first start, sometimes you get in the way more than help, and you will not be a confident nurse until about the 1 year mark. Like everything, nursing will take a while to get all the skills down. i have faith in you so you need to too! Good Luck in your entire future!

I will be graduating about that time too but I am not nervous. I pledge to remain positive and go into orientation like a blank slate. Hospitals have different policies and so one has to adapt to whatever is taught. Be confident, there is no need to be nervous.
