I can understand the feeling. I started working towards my RN after graduating from LPN school in '08, I took one class at a time and have done a traditional ADN program ( NO bridge was available). Whenever people would hear my expected graduation date they would look at me like it would never happen, it was too far away! But here I am, I will graduate in 12 months. It still seems far away but its never as far away as when you first start. Slow and steady does win the race. I know so many people trying to " rush" or take the " quickest" route, they either gave up, failed out or just didn't follow through. Don't worry about fast, worry that you need to keep moving forward towards your goal. Good luck, its ok to vent just a little, its a lot of work!

Erica, keep all your options open. There has to be a LPN to RN program tha will take you with the grades you have. Dont be discouraged. It may take a while, but no matter what you have to spend the time doing something. I would try to find and LPN to BSN program. I see a lot of them online and stuff. It took me 3 years to get my BSN when I got my ADN. When it took other people 1 year in the accelarated BSN completion programs and they had no nursing experience what so ever. And yes, its not fair, its all about money at the end of the day. Just keep your head up. Do Not be discouraged. Where there is a will, there is a way. I will say a lil prayer for you tonight. Good luck honey

I was in your same boat. I graduated DEc 08, licensed by April 09. I had all my prereqs taken care of but I could not get in with those grades I sucked it up and took classes over with As's and B's and I got my acceptance letter Dec 11. Retake those classes and continue to apply. GOOD LUCK!

26 is not too old! If you really want it then you will do whatever you have to to make it happen. I finished my LPN in 2009 and am just starting my RN program. I will be 37 this month.

Wow. I graduated from LPN in 1997. I am 36 years old and told myself that when my daughter graduated from high school I would go back and do something for ME. The transition back into college took forever it feels like, but at the same time it feels like it is flying by. I have 40 weeks left. Had to start by taking ALL the prerequisites again because apparently I am too old for anything to have counted from way back then lol. But, June 4th I will begin the bridge, and if I can keep my 4.0 (or at least keep passing everything) then all I will have left is 2 semesters.
You have been through nursing school once already, and are well aware of the pure torture and dedication it requires. Stay with it... please don't give up. I love being an LPN, but I should have done this years ago. There will be so many opportunities open up to you as an RN, not to mention the better pay scales. It will be worth it in the end, I promise!
Best of luck to you in all that you do!
