I didn't mean sarcasm...I am married to a driver and they can only drive 10 hours..not 12 and not 16 and only allowed so many hours in a certain period of time so it is a very valid point. They are usually accused of driving accidents when it is usually the 4 wheel driver (car) causing the accident and I have seen plenty of 4 wheelers causing accidents!!!!!!
That is all for now.........I will shut up and put up.
THANKS
I know in this economy, it may be hard to find a new job. But remember that your nursing license, and people's lives are in your hands. You must practice safely, and I know that they may push you around. But they need you as much as you need them "management".
Sometimes, your body says "no", but you can push it...so far!!!
Just be careful, and speak up, for better workable shift because you have worked hard to get this far!
Good Luck!
I had the evening from HELL. And I am TOO TIRED TO GO TO SLEEP. If I had to go to work tomorrow I would have to just shoot myself (just kidding). You know, when you are in charge you have to keep up the positive image cause you can't be running around acting like an ass. But there were a few times tonight that I just wanted to have a shotgun at my desk to shoot the next person who came off the elevator with another patient. We were the only floor who could take patients tonight. 4 discharges, 4 post ops, 4 transfers and 10 admits. It is a wonder I have any hair left in my head. But as usual we managed to get it done. Isn't that what we always do, us nurses, no matter what they give us, we just rise to the occasion. You know, we are all pretty remarkable people.

Okay.. I just posted the other day because I worked a double and then called in the next day for my 2nd shift because I couldn't sleep. So... I just found out that the person I worked with on my sat pm shift covered my shift on sunday pms. so....this is what this person worked....sat morning 6am to 9pm then sun morn 6am to 6pm and the third shift nurse who called in came in early on sun night. So now I feel bad that I didn't feel I could do the shift safely while that person worked a billion hours over the weekend. Is it just me or is this place I work for run really poorly. I work at a LTC care facility and am a part time student. I am getting the idea that I need to just suck it up and put up and do the job. I'm getting frustrated with management and can't really go anywhere else because I am a new LPN.
THANKS!!!!
