Fears about nursing school

What are your biggest fears about nursing school??

I have a fear of the end of every semester ATI's that can get you kicked out of the program if you fail!!!! :sniff:

Have you confirmed that this is the case for your program or is this a rumor? My program requires that you pass the ATI to continue with the program. However, you get multiple attempts. Do not stress about this. If it is true, ask your instructors what remediation information you might need to study before the exam. They want you to pass.

I'm getting ready to start my second year and my biggest fear is my Complex Med-Surg class coming up in the spring semester. I have heard that the instructor is a no nonsense, you better know your stuff and not ask any questions kind of lady. Trust me, I know why that is the case, we should be ready to graduate, but it's definitely a scary thought nonetheless.

yep, and you'll find after you graduate that you're glad you had her (except for the no-questions part*), because you'll learn more from her than from any fluff-ball sweetie. trust me on this.

*hint: if you have a question, preface it by saying what you know already and what you've already tried to figure out. show her that you're not just asking her to explain it all to you. don't rely solely on lecture for your learning-- take the time to study other books or periodicals for background, so you can let her know you did that. and who knows? you might end up answering your own question...and she wants you to learn how to do that, too.

Well from what I have heard so far ,you will have to take the ATI exam after each semester and and are given TWO chances to pass and then it's curtains!!! Plus a medical calculation exam after each semester that must also be passed in TWO tries!!
