Okay so I love watching fear factor and was taking to a fellow nurse friend of mine and we wanted to know how many of you could get through these "nursing stunts":
1) 100 patients, 10 meds apiece, 1hour to complete... no errors
2) Eating the hospital food, with NO condiments (gasp!)
3) Licking the hospital floor... (yummy right) and yes you can disinfect your mouth after.
4) Working a 24hour shift in the ICU and ER... NO SLEEP
5) Transfering a 250 pound patient from bed to chair 10 times, no help
Me personally, I guess I'd try it but I would not be the fear factor champ!

I'm pretty sure I have done this. And I didn't get any rewards. Except maybe that the hairs in my nose burned off due to the marvelous stench. :barf01:

Identify the source of the odor while blindfolded. That 400 lb. woman during a foley cath placement, OR, The dinner tray with an entree of Salmon/Mackrel loaf.
This isn't fair because they all have the same smell.
See who can empty the most foley bags in 60 seconds.
Hook themselves up to insulin drips and see who's blood sugar can get the lowest without passing out.
See who can withstand the most joules from the defribrillator without having an arrythmia.
Who can untie the most 'dummy patients' underwater strapped to their beds in four point restraints in under 4 min...restraints can only be untied one at a time.
Who can keep control of their bladder the longest after 40mg of Lasix IV
now here is what a NORMAL fear factor show should be like!!! this thread keeps getting grosser and grosser, but funnier and funnier....but i am still
Who can drink the most Mucomyst without barfing, and no you can't add juice to it, you have to drink it straight.
Who can get through a full jug of GoLytely first, with the only bathroom being on the other end of the hall.
Hold your breath and see who can get the lowest pulse ox.

how about seeing who can catch the most cockroaches after they jump/scuury out of your homeless patients clothing and then dig out the eggs laid in the wounds.:sofahider now where are those pesky roaches hiding? :sofahider
Nurse VS Nurse, that trach pt from back there each nurse has own and the pt has to "swallow" stuff and blow it out the trach and whatever nurse gets to the line in the bucket first WINS!!!!
