I was accepted to FDU ABSN and find the tuition to be outrageous!!!! Anyone currently attending or have attended and did govt loans covered the 50k tuition? I don't wanna take private loans cause I don't have good credit. What is the maximum sub/unsubsidized loan available for 2nd degree ABSN at FDU?
Thanks!

I would call the financial dept at FDU and ask them these questions. They would know best. I know that I have unsub. loans but that is because I make too much money workign FT to qualify for a subsidized gov't loan. I believe the amount granted for a sub or un sub loan to an individual is based on their income. I had to get private loans to cover the rest. I got my private loans through Sallie Mae and the interest varies on those loans but it is anywhere between 9-11%! (and I have a GOOD credit score)
The tuition is outrageous at FDU, I agree. You will be spending more than 50K on school. After all the fees, required textbooks, and equipment it will add up to approximately 60K. A semester at FDA is running a little over 9K for me (w/o the cost of books).
I wish you luck!

As for the evening program. It's OK. The program can be difficult to navigate because the school is not very forthcoming with information to the students. It's alot of work if you are balancing a family or working FT or PT. I work FT and managed to have a 3.75 GPA. As for my previous undergrad GPA, I had a 2.69 GPA but I also have my Master's so that helped me get into the two year program.
Yes, if I remember correctly I did have to write an essay. Make sure you have someone you trust, read and provide you with an objective opinion. It's always good to have someone review your written work to ensure that it is a well-written cohesive statement.

undergrad program offered zero support for exit exam when I was there, be willing to work your butt off and come up with a lot of cash since it's a private school
