FAU FNP 2019

Published

So I do not think there has been a forum made yet for the FAU FNP program starting in August 2019. Other programs starting then welcome as well. The applications are officially open so I was hoping for some discourse on the application/interviews/etc.

I'm still in the middle of my application. Anyone having "fun" with nursingcas and started as well?

Some people applied to more than one school continue to have faith you never know.

I am still waiting but I also applied to UWF ( University of West Florida) part time FNP program. Just in case I dont get accepted into FAU FNP program, I still have one more chance.

Is their program online ? Or do you attend class?

No fully online no brick or mortar classes. But if i get admitted ,I will have to go there for a week on the second year for some labs, suture practice etc... but they will let you know in advance. It is a little more flexible than FAU and it is state university like FAU very affordable.

I just tried to look at the website, it doesn’t say when the deadlines are or when it’s offered. But definitely a good back up plan .

The clinical sites are allowed to be in your area then?

When I found out FAU no longer makes us find our own preceptors, I was pretty relieved BUT the fact that it could be over an hour away from me makes me nervous. I wish we could at least request one for our area.

To clarify, in the info session, they made it sound like preceptors would be assigned without your address as a factor. so a person south of boca could have a spot in wellington and a wellington student could be going south of boca.

Yes I am allowed to find my own preceptors, not sure how that work they probably give a list of leads. But I did some research it is a good school. it is far from me. The school is located in Pensacola, FL thats a two hours flight.

deadline was March 29 it already passed and they only admit once a year for the FNP.

When people start getting more info, yall should post about it here. I wonder how long until we get the mailed packet with more info.

So I applied to the Boca campus, I got accepted at the Davie campus. It never occurred to me that this could be a possibility.. although I'm definitely glad it wasn't a rejection! Does anyone have any experience with the Davie campus in comparison? I am only familiar with the Boca one (I live and work in the area). If anyone knows of anyone who has gone through the FNP program in Davie I'd love to hear about their experience. My understanding is that it's the same program but my on-campus classes will be at this campus instead, and my clinical sites would be based around this location also. If anyone has gotten accepted to the Davie Campus as well I'd love to know!
