Hey everyone! I couldn't find a thread for traditional fall 2016 so I thought I'd make one.
Yeah, I've heard that too. Honestly, I don't think they should favor FAU students. Give the acceptance to the people that are most qualified regardless of what school they came from. And, that's what I'm hoping for that it's not just a matter of cutting people off by scores. I'm hoping the interviews do make a difference and experiences you have.
I did have plenty of time to take it again. My only reasoning for not was, I don't want to keep paying for things if it isn't necessary. These applications and testing processes aren't cheap! So I figured if I called and it sounded promising then I wouldn't. Honestly, I was shocked I did that well because that type of testing I usually struggle with. I did a lot of practice tests, but being on the computer seeing that little timer counting down the whole time would just make me mind blank unfortunately.
That's great that you have more opportunities! I wonder if these other schools do group interviews or individual. Congrats on hearing back from your second choice! You must be so excited :) It's already an honor to just receive interviews with how many applicants there are.
Oh that is no lie at all!! I think between all the schools I've applied for i've spent around a good 400-600 dollars
When you studied and such did you use the official ati booklet or other practice guides? I had a great deal of success with the ati booklet and did well on the first try. I'm not a very good test taker either especially with a test so grand like the TEAS ! I was honestly surprised i did kinda ok .
Thanks so much for the love im super excited honestly because for the past few years I've been working really hard and so many nights studying and so much coffee and that hard work payed off and its a great feeling. I was ecstatic when i got the email for the interview because the week before i had been so down because i got waitlisted for ucf.
questions.... like oh if someone asks you for the password to take an online exam at home what would you do? Things like that. The only personal question they really asked was why did you pick FAU, and how do the philosophies there fit in with your own. But there was really nothing that gives them a chance to know you. I had someone that would ramble on forever in my group lol. My suggestion, try to answer questions before other people do because everyone ends up having similar answers. I feel like mine went OK. I wasn't nervous just kinda thrown off by some of the questions. I thought it would be different.
Best of luck!!!!!! Hope you do well in your interview :)
Don't be nervous!!! it's not bad at all! I just wish they asked different questions that actually gave us a chance to talk about ourselves a little more. I'm sure you will do great! :) Fingers crossed for you!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok so it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be and i kind of wished they asked more personal questions but its all goood !!!
blehh had my interviews yesterday too and was SO unprepared for those questions man. The only way you could show your personality through was by relating it to the philosophies of the program, which I tried to get a refresher on what they were before the interview and their mobile site had oh so conveniently crashed... so I basically feel screwed. And then the interview group I was in was interviewed by the dean. and assistant dean of the program, so there's not even a chance that the bad impression I made gets lost/lessened as it goes up the chain of command smh

i think its because they look at everything regarding your application and they dont base it just off of teas score and grades. and i also notice they dont necessarily favor you if you went ot fau. i personally did all my AA credits at Broward College.
i took the TEAS in january right after my last semester at BC and gave myself enough time if i had to retake it and still make deadlines. the same thing happened to my brother when he took teas the first time and that affected his score.
i know gpa and teas arent the only determanant factor, but in your case i really wouldn't worry because that gpa is FUEGO!
UNF is asking for an interview and its some time in may, and USF is also asking for an interview and the application opens tomorrow april 1ST, but again im debating applying to usf. it was my first choice, but i heard back from my second choice so im kinda in a debating phase at this point lol. i got waitlisted to my third choice UCF, which is kind of a bummer but its all good....
