FAU fall 2016 Traditional

Published

Hey everyone! I couldn't find a thread for traditional fall 2016 so I thought I'd make one.

I applied to FAU as a back up because im not gunna rely on just one school to get into their nursing program. Im not gunna sell myself short and hope and pray on just one school only. I applied to 7 nursing schools because you really can't sell yourself short. I needed to make sure i had options. Im an adult and im sure you are too i wouldn't be out here questioning peoples life choices tbh because you don't know the circumstances surronding my personal life but that's just my opinion.

Besides I wasn't even accepted into the program YET. I was only offered an interview.

chill mama.

Does anyone know how many people they will be interviewing?

I have an interview tomorrow at 8:30!! Super nervous.

I have a 4.0 overall GPA, but I didn't do as well as I wanted to on the TEAS. I scored a 79. However, I called them to see if I should retake it, and they said no to just apply. So, we'll see what happens! :)

Good luck to everyone!!

the way the email came off when i read it, they made it seem like they had ALOT of people to interview. i assume they do.

dont be nervous! be confident and honest. you'll do great!

best of luck on your interview tomorrow!!!!

Thank you! :) Good luck to you as well!

I wonder how long after interviews it will take to find out whether or not we got accepted.

thanks so much i appreciate that!

i wonder as well i anticipate it'll be about two weeks before the may 1st deadline for FAU general admission, because general admission needs to be able to save a spot for others, so they have a deadline of may 1st

Orientation is set for April 22 as of now. So, it shouldn't be that long of a wait. Either way, I wont be sleeping much until I find out! lol

Also, best of luck with your other applications! Hoping you get accepted to your first choice of school!

really? where did you see that information? orientation for the program is on the 22nd?

i wouldn't worry too much, you have pretty good credentials and im sure you'll ace that interview!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks so much! same to you!!!!

I went into the nursing building before, and they gave me this paper that had a bunch of info on it about the program and various deadlines and dates. It says it on there!

I'm hoping for the best!!! :)

What time is your interview?

Awww see i dont have the luxury to go and commute i kinda live far from boca campus! Im glad to know that then that means decisions should come out within a week or two!

My interview is at 11:30.

Do you know if it's individual or group? Last few years i heard it was group.

Yeah, I live only 5 minutes away, and I have classes there all week :p

From everything I have heard, it seems that it is small groups. I don't really get how you interview people groups, but I guess we will find out soon enough!! I'll let you know how it is though after I finish. I heard they interview 80 people and only accept 40. You would think they would want to narrow it down to less than 80 for interviews!

Yes please do!!! Thanks in advance! I also quesion the validity of group interviews but we'll see how it goes! I would have imagined that it would be singular interviews so that they could get one on one time with each candidate but meh.

Im deciding between fau and another school so i wanted to go to the interview to get an idea of how it'll go and how i feel after

Wow thats half the interview pool! They must be extremely selective in their process. I've been looking up common interview questions and have been practicing since i found out, and im hoping everything goes well.

I also wanted to do the interview and kind of give others my perception so i could offer advice to some of my friends that have interviews.

Again best of luck to you and anyone reading this that has an interview

Yeah, I don't feel like it gives them a chance to get to know you in that type of setting. I would feel more comfortable if it was one on one. But I did read in another post that it wasn't that bad. I haven't been able to find any information as far as what questions they are asking.

They do seem very selective. I've read a lot of posts where people had high grades and TEAS scores and didn't get in. I felt confident until I started reading that! I know I have a 4.0, but now I wish I had retaken the TEAS. The website was having issues the day I took the exam, and it actually skipped pages on my last section, so that pulled my overall score down. However, I spoke with the lady that we had to RSVP to about the interview, and she told me not to bother taking it again when I told her my GPA. I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot here. lol

Do the other schools you are applying to also require interviews?
