FAU BSN 2013-Traditional or Accelerated

This is the first year FAU has used the TEAS so no way of really knowing what a good TEAS score is at this point Also, Last years application deadline was Nov. 31st, a whole month earlier and under FAQ's on the FAU website it states March 31st as the latest we will have to wait. A longggggg wait!

I just spoke with staff and they said end of February but possibly earlier. My prereq/science GPA is nowhere near as good as most of yours, but I did get an 89% on my TEAS so I'm hoping that helps. I'm also hoping that because there are only a handful of posters on here, it increases our chances :).

Welcome Falmouth and thanks for the vote of confidence! I am hoping you and lady roscoe are onto something with the smaller applicant pool :) As for confidence, I am trying but not succeeding lol... Hopefully we will all survive the LONG wait and be sharing happy news in the upcoming weeks!

Does anybody know how are they going to notify us? School email or personal email?....I read a couple of postings from last year and a few people mentioned something about an early admission email that was sent during January...anybody knows anything about that?...I dont wanna have to wait until the end of Feb Im too anxious lol

I too emailed staff at the school today and they said they would notify us by email toward the end of February. My guess would be to the email address you supplied to NursingCAS as that is the address I received the email stating they received my application.

bfab04 - I am so surprised that they said we may know that early!! I also wanted to let you know that I attended one of the information sessions held about the program over the summer and I believe that **********(who has been incredibly helpful) stated that "high 80's" on the TEAS was considered a good score :yes: . I believe that our personal email (used for Nursing CAS) is how we will be notified! Everyone keep am eye on your spam folder just incase!! This wait is just such a killer. I know we all feel like our lives are in limbo!

The January e-mail that people get is just a general acceptance to the school, the actual nursing school admittance comes directly from **********.

Thank you guys for all the info!...Im very glad I found this site cause now I feel Im not the only one going crazy waiting Lets stay positive because we all seem to have good scores and a good gpa! :)

Does anyone know if when we get our final transcript do we send it directly to FAU or does it have to go through NursingCAS again?

It has to go through Nursing CAS again-especially if it includes coursework toward your nursing prerequisites. All materials were to be submitted by December 31st, though I know FAU is allowing extra time for nursing CAS to process transcripts from last fall's semester. You need to update your application in nursing CAS to reflect your fall term coursework, and submit your transcript to them ASAP if you haven't.

Copied from FAU Nursing Webpage:

• Only applications COMPLETED by December 31 will be reviewed. That is, all components must be received, including transcripts. For example, it is highly unlikely that opening a new application on December 25th would have all necessary transcripts received by December 31 since most academic programs would be on holiday break. Plan ahead!

NOTE: Transcripts do not need to be received by Nursing CAS before you submit your application but must be received by the posted deadline.

I pray that your transcript does not include any of the classes that are required as part of the prerequisite GPA! :unsure:
